The Campus Marketing Institute

These Terms of Use and Terms of Service (collectively, "Terms") govern your access to and use of the website, university portal, campus events directory, and related services (collectively, the "Services") operated by Campus Marketing Institute, LLC ("CMI," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent. University portal accounts are intended for authorized university or college staff submitting events on behalf of their institution.

2. Account Registration

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or reject accounts that we cannot verify or that violate these Terms.

3. Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

4. University Portal and Event Listings

Listing events through our university portal does not guarantee sponsorship, brand interest, or revenue. We review university accounts and may approve, reject, or remove listings at our discretion. You represent that you have authority to list events and share submitted information with brands and partners for sponsorship evaluation.

5. Brand and Marketing Services

Descriptions of programs (content creators, street teams, welcome week activations, and similar offerings) on our site are for informational purposes. Specific campaigns, pricing, deliverables, and timelines are governed by separate agreements or statements of work between you and CMI, not by these Terms alone.

6. Intellectual Property

The Services, including text, graphics, logos, software, and design, are owned by CMI or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of content you submit but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and share that content to operate and promote the Services.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

Our site may link to third-party websites and platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY SPONSORSHIP OR BUSINESS RESULT WILL BE ACHIEVED.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CMI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CMI from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Services, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our business. Upon termination, provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wayne County, Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date indicates when changes were last made. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
